iPhone firmware 1.1.3: should you upgrade?
By Danny Mendez
As you may have already heard, the 1.1.3 iPhone firmware specs were leaked, and the upgrade is expected to disable all hacks. If you’ve hacked your unit, are the new features worth the upgrade?
First, let’s examine what we’ll be getting with 1.1.3. From what we know so far, the upgrade should add the abilility to text message more than one phone during a single session. Google maps will be able to pinpoint your location through cell tower triangulation. The homescreen will be highly customizeable, allowing users to add, remove, and arrange app icons and web page bookmarks.
Of all the upgrades, what can’t we currently do with a jailbroken iPhone? I know that all of that’s currently possible except for the Google maps triangulation feature. A jailbroken unit can also do much more including the ability to install countless applications, games, and utilities.
Our advice: If you really, really love the new artificial-GPS Google maps is rockin’, go for it. Otherwise, if you like all the benefits a hacked unit provides, avoid the upgrade until a mature 1.1.3 jailbreak develops.

uhh the pseudo gps feature is hardly new. navizon lite (available via installer.app) does the same thing. navizon FULL is PROBABLY better than 1.1.3 feature. also you fail to mention COPY AND PASTE functionality has supposedly been confirmed for 1.1.3 also.

The update sucks!!!! No copy and paste, and no voice recorder. Not worth the update. I have all that and more on my jailbroken iPhone.
