iPhone and iPod Touch: SNES emulator now available
By Danny Mendez
It’s been a long time comin’, but it’s finally here. Expected to hit the mobile Apple platform eventually, an SNES emulator is finally available.
The install details are available at ZodTTD. Currently, the SNES emulator is only available to Beta Tester Club members, who also get access to the latest builds of the the GBA and PSX emulators for the iPhone. The rest of us have to wait for a public release, but, if you’re not the patient type, donating a couple bucks to the effort will automatically score you access to the club.
Unlike many other emulators, this one doesn’t require a BIOS file to work, which is really convenient since many sites refuse to host or link to copyrighted code. However, the program is not flawless. A few games, such as Super Mario RPG, refuse to work, but the coding effort continues with your donations.
It’s likely that the more that’s donated, the more likely the programs will get worked on. So support those behind the scenes, and make sure to enjoy your old-school SNES favorites.
