Version 1.1.3 iPhones unlockable fresh from the factory
By Jonathan Schlaffer
It seems the near impossible has been done, again. Any brand new Apple iPhone should be software unlockable as long as it has the 1.1.3 firmware and bootloader 4.6.
According to Engadget, the instructions should work but they have not been tested so proceed at your own risk. You will need to download several files and temporarily downgrade your iPhone to 1.0.2.
Several command line instructions are involved and you won’t be able to go back to version 1.1.3.
This version 1.1.3 unlock downgrades your iPhone to 1.1.2 when all is said and done. So, it’s not a true 1.1.3 unlock, it’s more of a workaround.
In the end, it doesn’t appear this is really worth doing but it’s up to you. Keep in mind the dim view Apple and AT&T take towards unlocking the iPhone. If you’re still so inclined, the instructions are as follows,
geohot's 1.1.2 software unlockyes, this is what you have all been waiting fornow fixed to support 1.1.31. Download these:gunlock and the secpack from http://iphonejtag.blogspot.com/ or the blogthe 4.02.13 fls from http://george.zjlotto.com/index.php/baseband/
2. Downgrade your phone to 1.0.2. See all the great tutorials online to do this. Your baseband won't be downgraded, this is normal. This will probably work on other versions too, but 1.0.2 doesn't lose wifi on bb access.3. Kill CommCenter and run "gunlock secpack ICE04.02.13_G.fls"4. Reload CommCenter. For some reason my phone was in brick mode. Use the elite team bricktool to get out.5. Enjoy your 1.1.2 OTB unlocked iPhoneNow who'd have thought it'd be this easyThis release is no thanks to elite/devI wish they would share like the old days.
I don't believe everyone in the team is like this, but come on guys.If you want to contribute to me, the person who discovered these exploits and wrote this toolpaypal geohot@gmail.com
They call that easy? Maybe as easy as getting a root canal. That’s stretching the very definition of easy.
