AT&T offering refurbished iPhones for $199 with new activations

By Jonathan Schlaffer

AT&T offering refurbished iPhones for $199 with new activations It seems that there are still some refurbished iPhones that Apple and AT&T would like to be rid of but the offer is rather limited. AT&T will be selling refurbished 4GB and 8GB iPhones for $199 and $249, respectively; with new activations. The offer is good at AT&T stores in the New England area.

If you’ve been wanting to get on board with the iPhone but didn’t want to drop $399 for one, here’s your chance. For those that don’t need the phone feature, a new iPod touch with more storage capacity is still a better choice.

BoyGeniusReport has the internal memo issued to the stores;

Refurbished iPhones at COR Stores. For a limited time, select COR stores in the New England Market will offer refurbished iPhones (both 4GB and 8GB) for a special price. These devices are good as new and give customers the opportunity to experience the revolutionary iPhone with big savings. New activations only, upgrades with Manager approval. Refurbished iPhones will only be available to purchase in select COR stores across the Northeast Region and will be available while supplies last. Please reach out to customers that have recently purchased an iPhone to see if they are interested in activating an additional iPhone at a discounted equipment cost. Please note no in-store sales materials should be created. This is to be sold as a closing tool only. Product is available while supplies last from initial shipment. Failure to follow this communication will result in a Code of Business Conduct violation.

The problem is that this is only good in a limited region and only as long as supplies last. If you’re living in the New England area and happen to have an AT&T owned store near you, it is definitely worth checking out.

You can always hope that this offer rolls out to other markets/stores but it doesn’t look like that will happen.

    1. kira:

      COR = Company Owned Retail

      kira, thank you, I have updated the article to say AT&T stores instead of COR. This is why abbreviations should always be explained (by the person who wrote the original).
