iPhone Video Recorder: record video with sound
By Danny Mendez
iPhone Video Recorder is a new application that gives Apple’s next-generation mobile the ability to do a last-generation thing: record video with sound.
The app should be available on Installer, and once the application is installed, you’ll be able to record video in mpeg4 format at up to 15fps. One hour files may be as small as 60MB, but the settings aren’t set in stone.

As you can see, a few important settings are configurable such as the "Recording volumn amplifier" (it’s misspelled in the picture too).
Because of the way the program works and the limitations of the iPhone, it encodes video at the end of a recording session. It is possible to record on-the-fly, but the frame rate will suffer.
So far, it sounds like a great tool, but here’s the kicker: it costs $20. Not that we have anything against a programmer trying to make a dollar, but this is the iPhone hacking scene — no one pays for anything here and no one expects to. Well, that’s the way it should be, but — despite what we think — we hope it sells well for the programmer’s sake.
