Rogers announces Canadian iPhone, CEO is man of few words
By Danny Mendez
Canadian carrier Rogers Communications announced that it has finally established a deal with Apple to bring the iPhone to Canada, and in very related news, the company’s CEO is a man of very few words.
Earlier today, the President and CEO of the company issued the following statement:
"We’re thrilled to announce that we have a deal with Apple to bring the iPhone to Canada later this year."
That’s it! That’s all we get. Well, there was this part, but it doesn’t count:
"We can’t tell you any more about it right now, but stay tuned."
We’re glad Canada’s cell phone technology is finally catching up to 2007. They were stuck in 2005 for quiet a while, but they’re making progress. Around 2010, we’ll let you know when the country manages to nab a 3G iPhone deal, which is when the CEO will issue the following statement:
We got it.
On a more serious note, it is unknown if the deal includes the second generation iPhone right away, which would make a lot of sense as the carrier could offer two distinct models of the Apple mobile. We’ll let you know as soon as anything comes up.
