Google News now available on Apple iPhone & iPod Touch
By Dave Parrack
Up to now Google News hasn’t been available to owners of the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch. However, that’s now all changed, and wherever you are in the world, you’ll be able to keep up the all the latest news through Google.
The Official Google News Blog announced today that Google News is now available on the iPhone and iPod Touch. Not only in the U.S. either, but across over 30 countries worldwide.
The move means that you’ll now get a fully-fledged version of Google News on the Apple devices, meaning it looks really nice. Plus there’ll now be improved Google News results, and even embedded YouTube videos to accompany some stories.
The Google News Blog helpfully points the way to get Google News up and running on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Simply do one of the following three options:
- Go to www.google.com, click on the “more” tab and follow the link to Google News.
- Go to www.google.com and do a search, then click on the News link at the top of the screen.
- Go directly to Google News at http://news.google.com in your browser.
In addition to Google News, the company has also rolled out the iPhone interface to 33 new markets and in 16 new languages.
This includes a Google APPS launch, which now makes it possible to access Google Apps on an iPhone interface. Simply go to http://www.google.com/m/a/YOURDOMAIN on your iPhone (replacing YOURDOMAIN, with your domain) and it’s job done.
