iPhone features Easter egg hunt
By Ronald O Carlson

Lately, there has been no end to the rumors and wishing about the physical characteristics and features of the third coming of the Jesus phone. Of course, the other side of the same coin are the software features to be included, though here we have a much more reliable source—Apple’s own iPhone OS 3.0 beta is chock full of clues for those who know where to find them.
That said, in the spirit of the holiday, check out Wired’s Easter Eggs Give Clues to Next-Gen iPhone, which covers many of the software features the mothership has built into its iPhone OS 3.0 beta. Of course, it’s entirely likely that some of these functions won’t see the light of day and that there are even more buried deep inside Apple’s code that have yet to be found.
Of course, most of these items are things we have all been wishing for since the day the rest of us willed the iPhone into existence—voice recorder, camera auto focus, voice control, handset tethering. Now, however, there’s actual tangible—well, as tangible as software can be—proof that these features will soon be in our hands.
A coffee maker, too?
If you’re looking for speculation, informed and otherwise, about what new hardware functionality might make the cut for the next generation iPhone due sometime this Summer, iPhone.Blorge really is one of the better sources:
— Camera coming to the touch? Hallelujah!
— iPhone WiFi may speed up to 802.11n
— Cupertino has ordered 3.2MP camera for iPhone
