There’s no question that Apple is a master of controlling what information its partners and customers get. Thankfully, though, whenever Cupertino tightens its grip a little information always seems to squeeze out between its fingers.

In the parallel and in some ways superior universe that Apple inhabits leaks not only wouldn’t occur, we customers wouldn’t even be curious. Cupertino’s “trade secrets” could fall from the sky into our laps and the “the rest of us” would avert eyes in respect.

Well, that’s not gonna happen any time soon.

T-Mobile Netherlands (via TUAW) has posted specifications, including the processor speed and RAM compliment, for the just announced iPhone 3G S:

What was the last “computer” the mothership sold with similar specs? That would be the 16VRAM iBook, which sported a 600MHz G3 PowerPC processor and 128MB of RAM (640MB max) with a $1,199 asking price. Or, was it that G3 iMac that Apple kept around for educational buyers? Hmm.

Whatever the case, final confirmation of these specs will, of course, have to wait for iSuppli, iFixIt or some other eager beaver with pocket full o’ cash to pull apart one of Apple’s newest handsets and that will have to wait until at least June 19 when product will begin shipping.
