Fourth generation iPhone due in May, says rumor [u]
Some days the rumors sprout in Taiwan like mushrooms before an earnings report. Now, we’re getting big n’ juicy truffles, French truffles, in the shapes of the still sight unseen Apple tablet and 4G iPhone.
Challenges (France) is continuing the stream of tantalizing rumors out of the land of Voltair and Big Mac du pain complet (liberty fries sold separately) with the latest positing that Apple will push up the release of its fourth generation iPhone.
Apple will launch in early May 2010 a new version of its iPhone, it was learned from several mobile operators. This is the fourth version in three years the famous smartphone. Challenges writes that the mothership aims to meet a rising tide of competition, think gaggles of Google “superphones.” Well, considering the fact that Search-zilla’s latest offering has turned into a bag of customer service hurt, and that Apple’s had yet another blow out Christmas quarter, the same time frame in which Android phones started selling in large numbers, I’m thinking the reason might not Google at least not alone.

I am very fed up with AT&T in my area that I am almost ready to bail on the iPhone and use it as iPod touch to keep my apps. Let’s see what you got Apple and I may stay. It’s all in how patient I will be.

I’ve gotta admit, one thing that I wonder about is Steve’s quote back in 2007 about how Apple was two years ahead of everybody else.
The gap got closed pretty fast. In early 2010, Android has everything that iPhone has and more, both hardware and software-wise. About the only thing Apple has that Android does not is the 100K+ App Store.
