Wednesday’s important for Verizon [and the whole wireless industry], too
Oh why limit the love just to Verizon? Everybody in these fractiously United States come here and let’s have a great big group iPhone hug (or so the latest rumors would have us believe).
Boy Genius Report claims that Wednesday is gonna be a big, big day for Verizon. In fact, the carrier has put off their regular quarterly “kick off” event, where the company clues it retail managers into new product plans and more, until Jan. 27 at 1 p.m.
And, hey, you’re right — there’s already an iCal event scheduled for that very time. Steve Jobs et al will be mounting the stage at San Francisco’s Yerba Center at just that moment to reveal Apple’s “latest creaiton” (a.k.a. the tablet, iSlate, iTablet, iPad, iPod touch on steroids, Mac tablet, etc.) to throngs of adoring reporters.
Still not enough love?
But wait, if you buy into this line, you’ll love this Bloomberg write up that repeats claims by Oppenheimer & Co. analyst Tim Horan that T-Mobile will get the phone this Summer, followed by Verizon Wireless and Sprint Nextel in the Fall, and then Clearwire in 2011.
Would that not be absolutely kewl? Every carrier of note in the land of milk and Honey Nut Cheerios will be carrying the iPhone!
Well, perhaps it’s really truly true and perhaps I’m not going to start holding my breath just yet…
What’s your take?

Didn’t Verizon just report disappointing numbers? The Verizon meeting may just be a “yeah, the numbers were disappointing, but cheer up li’l buckaroos! We won’t be laying you off…today.”
Neat question: Will the tablet have a USB plug for a network dongle? So you can use it on Sprint/Verizon/AT&T/T-Mobile? What a crazy idea…
