Apple to reconsider Pulitzer-winning cartoonist’s app

There’s going to be a lot of noise made about this, but my immediate impression is that, like Playboy, award-winning cartoonist Mark Fiore will be given a pass because he’s a known quantity. That he won a Pulitzer Prize probably doesn’t hurt, though.

The one big caveat with iPhone OS 4.0, at least as described by Steve Jobs and his cohorts, is that anything other than the iPhone 3GS, 3G iPod touch or iPad won’t, can’t ever support multitasking because of hardware limitations. The folks who hack Apple mobile devices for fun and profit’ however, beg to differ.

iPhone OS 4.0 developer agreement bans use of Flash

Previously, Apple had banned the use of private APIs in the development of iPhone apps. Now, they’ve gone a step farther in banning the use of any “intermediary translation or compatibility layer or tool.” In plain English, these two conditions in the new developer agreement ban the use of Flash in development — period.

OS 4.0 for iPhone better for business

Many of the improvements in the iPhone OS, as unveiled by Steve Jobs and others at yesterday’s v.4.0 event, seem to be aimed specifically at making the iPhone better suited for business and boardroom use.
