What’s the most important app on the iPhone and iPad? According to an expert on the subject — a guy that’s written a Facebook book — no other app is used as much or by as many people. Surprisingly, the next biggest group of mobile users is the Blackberry with Android and Palm bringing up the rear.

The two biggest things in the Apple rumor mill right now concern the Verizon iPhone and the white iPhone, which may be a sad state of affairs with an iPod event coming up. Still, what about those iPhones?

There lots of folks who believe that sooner or later developers will flock to Android because that’s where the majority of users are. However, for the time being at least, devs are going to follow the money and that means writing for the iPhone and iPad.

Microsoft feels that they are so far behind their smartphone competition that they need to spend big on hype to catch up. The strangest thing, though, is that they still feel that they can play in that arena at all.

When the industry-leading content streaming launched on the iPad back in April, the company said an iPhone and iPod touch version would be coming soon. Well, soon is now as the Netflix rolls a client for Apple handhelds.

It looks like China Unicom, Apple’s partner in China, may be trying to avoid the problems that Apple faced in the U.S. over antenna problems by shipping iPhone 4 handsets to customers with cases already attached.

It may be that solving spam problems on the iPhone 4, which neither allows for nor provides protection from spam email, is not anything done to the iPhone itself, but rather to the machine that is its mother ship.
