Mozilla, maker of the popular Firefox browser, crushed the hopes of many today by announcing that it had no plans to produce a version of their browser for the iPhone, though the company left the door open to the iPad.

When it launched on July 11, 2008, Apple’s Remote app for iPhone and iPod touch was warmly welcomed by the geekerati. However, it’s been nearly a year since the app was last updated and it hasn’t been entirely usable for some time. Now, Apple’s brought it up-to-date for iOS 4, iPad and the new Apple TV.

As it transpires there are apparently still some proximity sensor issues, at least for some users, with the iPhone 4, wherein a user’s face can hang up the phone. There may be an additional fix waiting in the wings.
