White iPhone 4 delayed until Spring ’11

October 27, 2010

It’s just a color, but Apple and its Asian manufacturing partners just can’t seem to get it together. Whatever the underlying problem is the mothership won’t be delivering it until the second quarter of next year and that perhaps means it won’t be an iPhone 4, but a five.

Reuters, quoting an Appel spokesman, reports that the white iPhone 4 won’t ship until next Spring, a season that starts March 20 and ends June 21. This puts us firmly in the realm of next year’s presumed iPhone 5 announcement and ship dates.

“We’re sorry to disappoint customers waiting for the white iPhone again,” Apple spokeswoman Trudy Muller, though she declined to explain the delay.

So, assuming there ever will be a white iPhone, it probably won’t be an iPhone 4.

Anyone care to speculate on how cool and what new features the white iPhone 5 will have?
