The seemingly credible rumors to date have been almost categorical that the release of a Long Term Evolution (LTE) + CDMA compatible iPhone isn’t in the cards for 2011. Nevertheless, rumors of just such a device persist.
Big Red has been training new phone support staff by the thousands and those people will be getting their first real work out starting next Tuesday. But is the “iconic device” the Motorola Droid Pro — i.e. just another Android phone — or is Verizon really gonna try to own Christmas with iPhone 4 vaporware (i.e. won’t ship until next year)?
You can quibble over the actual words he used, but in a nutshell Mr. Sugar Mountain rolled out a tweaked Facebook app for the iPhone. No, there still isn’t a dedicated iPad app (i.e. it still looks like pixelated crap in 2X mode) and there aren’t any show stopping features.
Here’s an idea whose time has come again. Remember when you could carry your Mac around in your pocket on an iPod? Here’s the same idea rewritten for a new decade, though it remains to be seen whether we’ll like it any better this go around.
