The latest data from Nielson has found that the almost inevitable has happened: the Apple iPhone has finally passed the RIM Blackberry and is now the king of the smartphone marketplace.
What should a 3G carrier do when its customers flea with their smartphones in hand — and you thought AT&T was bad — to a rival? For Apple’s sole iPhone partner in the Middle Kingdom, the answer is change contract terms to allow them to directly levy fines on customer bank accounts.
It’s long been thought that something about how the iPhone polls, monitors and maintains 3G connections made it and AT&T’s network slow and unreliable. Thereupon, if this is the solution, you’d think someone would have figured it out before now.
