Back when I lived in Taiwan, everything from lotto numbers to the date we moved house and the hour my wife delivered by C-section to the day we left to come here was determined by an astrologer or soothsayer of some kind — c’est la vie, qui est le bon mariage! Who would’ve thunk Apple would go in for such numerological determinism?

It’s not unusual for AT&T to cut new and refurbished iPhone prices ahead of the launch of new hardware in June. This early in the game is, however, unprecedented and speaks volumes about the increasingly competitive smartphone marketplace and perhaps not a little about the Ma Bell’s Verizon iPhone fears.
