Yeah, finally someone credible (outside of Apple) is saying it loud and clear. Yes, of course, the fandroids will wail and moan — how would that be different than yesterday? — but the truth is out there, baby! OK, that was over the top, but the point has been made and we should be over this already.

By now we’ve all read the apparently well-source rumors that iOS 5 won’t be arriving until the Fall. Now, fresh whispers claim the iPhone 5 won’t ship, as has been tradition, at or soon after this year’s Worldwide Developer Conference nor will any new Mac hardware — sigh.

In previous years, Apple’s held a Spring press event where it unveils what new iOS features and seeds a developer beta. With this morning’s Worldwide Developer Conference announcement, which will be held right on schedule, that chain of events has apparently been usurped.

iPhone 5 on track for June, July delivery

The introduction of “insanely great,” category defining products aside, Apple’s pretty darned predictable. Thereupon, as best as we can tell downwind of Cupertino, iPhone 5 development is moving right along with a production test run of the next-generation iOS smartphone, which likely means we’ll be seeing finished product in the expected early Summer timeframe.
