Steve fires back over tracking [u]
Antennagate was a stupid waste of time and now we’ve got another non-issue to live through — the FUD-filled network news reports and all the hater vituperation. Even as the “story” broke, experts lined up to debunk it — tower not GPS based, so there’s no accuracy and Apple isn’t downloading the file anyway — yet here were are nonetheless.
Well, Apple has finally broken its silence. Steve Jobs has answered a customer’s inquiry on the subject:
- Q: Steve,
Could you please explain the necessity of the passive location-tracking tool embedded in my iPhone? It’s kind of unnerving knowing that my exact location is being recorded at all times. Maybe you could shed some light on this for me before I switch to a Droid. They don’t track me.
Steve’s answer
A: Oh yes they do. We don’t track anyone. The info circulating around is false.

Will this silence the critics? In a word, no, the people spreading the FUD and hate won’t stand down because it’s generating ad and page views.
[u] And, FUDsters fellow travelers, litigious customers, have already filed suit. Gosh are they really aggrieved or just looking for a quick payout, hmm?
Still, there was nothing to this story last week and there’s nothing in it today…
What’s your take?

What, you think he’d admit it if it was true?
Bit of an over the top rant if there’s nothing in it.
Trust no one.Especially “your holding it in the wrong hand” Jobs.
