How to save a PDF directly to iBooks

August 31, 2011

How do you use your iPhone, iPod touch and/or iPad? One of coolest, and unheralded, uses I’ve found is putting manuals on my iDevices, which saves on printing, keeps ‘em handy and backed up. Here’s how to take a PDF manual or whatever and save to iBooks.

What iPhone? Sprint schedules Oct 7 media event

August 30, 2011

Verizon is generally not so fast and AT&T is renowned for spotty, sometimes unreliable service. Thereupon, rumors that the number three carrier here in the U.S. will be getting the iPhone come Fall have lots of people talking. That is, pretty much everyone except the folks working in Sprint’s retail outlets.

Rumor: Samsung to buy webOS

August 29, 2011

Far and away the biggest seller of smartphones running Android is going to buy its own operating system? Now, that would be a very, very disruptive move and perhaps bold beyond their means. No matter which way you choose to slice it, the idea has merit.

iPhone 4S is familiar inside and out

Triangulation. Whereas there’s no direct method to figure out what Apple’s up to, we do get a regular stream of hints and here’s one of the more convincing ones. Further, Given that past is often prologue for the Cupertino, California-based iPhone maker, it seems reasonable to expect that the 3GS will be replaced by the 4S.

Sprint’s salvation at hand, unlimited data doomed

August 24, 2011

We’ve seen this movie before, but the back story is very, very different this time around. Try to remember a time in Sep… Wait, silver tongued Kara Swisher debunked Arnold Kim that rumor with angst laden prejudice. But, don’t give up hope my fellow fan boys, because the iPhone next is still coming just not quite so soon.

LTE me, baby

August 18, 2011

The consensus says Apple’s smartphone next — iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone nano — won’t come to market with a Long Term Evolution (LTE) chip inside. However, a number recent sightings point to the possibility nonetheless. Are you ready for an iPhone that runs on the fastest networks this side of the pond(s)?

AT&T knows you want to pay more

August 18, 2011

And, then there were two or maybe three or even four, depending on how you look at it. Ma Bell is killing its mid-range message plan. So, when new subscribers sign up in a couple days, they will have to choose either all-you-can-eat or to pay per message.

Be a caf-fiend and feed your iPhone

August 16, 2011

You’re going to get coffee anyway, why not get some go-go juice for your Apple smartphone at the same time? The really good thing about this offer is, whereas the caffeine will leave feeling like a rung out dish rag in a couple hours, your shiny new free app will keep your iPhone feeling funky fresh for days if not weeks and months.
