New iPhone? Five must know tips, lists
‘Tis the season to over eat and laze about, yet you need not let the time go completely to waste. Curl up with a nice iBook and listen to free internet radio. Or, why not shop, shop ’til you drop. How’s about a few laughs a la Apple’s hot new digital assistant, Siri — your new iPhone 4S is a source of endless amusement.
First thing’s first. What’s the one consistent theme in all of the lost or stolen iPhones that get found? It’s Apple’s brilliant Find My iPhone, the feature that foils criminals and faulty memories alike — really, do it now.
Next, it’s very, very likely the top reason you got an iPhone 4S is Siri. Thereupon, no matter how you slice it, you now have a pocket full of fun, that’s instantly accessible anyplace you find yourself in a spare moment.
Does Siri love you? Should I wear a sweater today? What’s the meaning of life? Apple’s meme making digital assistant might not have all of the answers, but she’s nonetheless chock full of personality (and laughs).
Now, let’s veer back into the practical with a tip from OS X Hints, which has advice on resurrecting recently closed tabs without unearthing Safari’s History (image below):
In the latest version of Safari for iOS, pressing and holding the add tab [+] button will show a list of recently closed tabs. Touching one of the listed pages will open it in a new tab.”

Because your iPhone 4S, whether connected via 3G or wifi, is always online, you’re always a few taps away from internet radio and, unlike pay forever Spotify, it’s very much free. Check out this listing of 10 great free radio apps for iPhone and iPad.
Lastly, one more brief plunge into the practical with this handy how to on adding iOS 5 keyboard shortcuts. Why is this useful? Well, if you’re constantly late, for example, you can program your iPhone to type out “on my way” just by tapping “omw” — a wickedly simple time saver.

I wasn’t able to get an iPhone 4S for Christmas, but I do have an iPhone 4! I came across a website that gave a tip on how to increase the sensitivity of the home button on your iPhone or iPad. I would put the directions but they are a bit long… Here is the site though! http://www.cultofmac.com/136785/how-to-make-your-iphones-home-button-more-responsive-ios-tips/ I tried it and it worked pretty well! Not that the iPhone’s home button isn’t sensitive enough, but it does get a bit numb over time!
