Apple has officially confirmed an event for September 9, though some in the crowd may be disappointed. It appears that this will be an all iPod event. So what? The more iPods, the merrier, unless you happen to be a Zune user.
Leave it to the UK and its sensibilities to pull iPhone ads for being just a little misleading. Apple advertises the iPhone as a full Internet-capable device even though it lacks support for Java and Adobe Flash.
There are a lot of fantastic hopes out there for the iPod Touch/iPhone but some of them just don’t seem plausible. This is one such application.
You may want to hold off on that iPod Nano or iPod Touch purchase. The rumor mill is spinning saying that Apple will release new versions of both in the next two to three weeks.
AOL has been trying to change its business model ever since its ISP division all but caved in on itself, I still find it hard to believe that it is still operating at all much less still running dial-up services. The much anticipated WWDC keynote by Steve Jobs has come and gone. Some were underwhelmed by it. I, like my colleague, was as well. That doesn’t mean there wasn’t some meat in the boredom.
It seems Apple got the memo that expensive phones are hugely subsidized to sell (expensive) contracts (which make more money than the handsets themselves). To that end, it may be allowing AT&T to subsidize the iPhone even further by letting the iPhone 2 go for just $200 with a new two-year contract.
Fake pictures of the next greatest Apple product are almost like a tradition by this point. It’s expected. If it didn’t happen people would be asking, “what happened?” So here we are, fake images of the iPhone have surfaced and at least one of them may be the real deal but nothing is certain until Steve Jobs himself walks up on stage and says “this is (the new) iPhone.”
